TitleRequired.
DescriptionOptional.
Start / endDate and time, or all day.
CategoryGives the event its colour. Without one, the event is grey.
RecurrenceRepeat rule — see below.
Show asWorkspace Calendar only: free, tentative, busy or away — how the event affects your availability when others schedule a meeting.

Recurrence

OptionDescription
DailyEvery N days.
WeeklyOn chosen days, every N weeks.
MonthlyOn a day of the month, or a weekday (e.g. “first Monday”).
YearlyOnce a year on the same date.

A series ends never, on a date, or after a number of occurrences.

Editing a recurring event

OptionDescription
This eventOnly this occurrence.
This and followingThis occurrence and all later ones.
All eventsThe whole series.

Drag and drop

Drag an event to another slot, or stretch it to change its length. For a recurring event, Flowline asks which occurrences to change.

Google Calendar events are read-only. Meetings can't be dragged or resized either — they are changed from the meeting scheduler so everyone's availability is checked again.

Categories

Categories give events their colour — an event takes the colour of its category, or grey with No category. Change a category's colour and all of its events follow. In the sidebar, tick or untick a category (including No category) to show or hide its events.

Each calendar has its own categories: this Calendar uses your Personal categories, and a workspace's categories are only offered in its Workspace Calendar. Events you create here are Personal events.

OptionDescription
DefaultsPersonal, Work and Health are created for you in your Personal space.
NamesUnique within a group: your Personal categories, a workspace’s categories outside teams, or one team’s categories. The same name can exist in different groups.
DeletingDeletes the category and its events. In a workspace, only the owner and admins (or a custom role allowed to) can delete categories.

The Free plan includes 20 calendar categories; Plus and Pro are unlimited.

Tasks in the calendar

Tasks with a due date appear at their due time, in their list's colour.

OptionDescription
Same dayDrag a task to another time of the same day — it moves right away.
Another dayDrop it on another day and choose its new time.
DurationStretch or shrink a task to set its duration (30 min by default). It is saved and kept after a refresh.
MidnightA task never spans two days: moved late in the evening, it is shortened to end at midnight.

Habits in the calendar

Habits with “Show in calendar” appear on their scheduled days, at a fixed time or right before / after one of your events, with a checkmark once done. The Habits filter in the sidebar hides or shows them.

Google Calendar

Connecting

Click Connect Google in the Calendar header and allow access with your Google account, then choose which Google calendars to sync — events of unticked ones are not shown. The synced calendars appear as categories of the Calendar, in the sidebar (tick or untick to show or hide their events). They are read-only: they can't be renamed, recoloured or deleted, and they disappear when you disconnect.

Limitations

Google events are read-only in Flowline: change them in Google Calendar. They only appear in the global Calendar, never in a Workspace Calendar.
