Focus Timer
Track deep work sessions with optional work/break intervals, categories, and a link to the task — or subtask — you're working on. Every session feeds your analytics.
Starting a session
Two ways to start:

| From a task | Click the timer icon on a task card, or on one of its open subtasks. The session dialog opens with that task or subtask already selected. |
| From the Timer page | Open Timer in the sidebar, then customize a session or relaunch a saved config. |
The timer keeps running in the background while you use the rest of Flowline.
Session types
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Free timer | No fixed end — you stop it yourself. Leave the session duration empty. |
| Session timer | A set total duration (e.g. 90 minutes); it ends on its own. |
Both can cycle between work and break intervals. A break is required when the work interval is shorter than the session.
Session settings
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Session duration | Total length. Empty for a free timer. |
| Work duration | Length of each work interval. |
| Break duration | Length of each break. |
| Category | What you are working on (e.g. “Study”). Used in analytics. |
| Sub-category | An optional finer label, with its own colour. |
| Linked task | A task or one of its subtasks — see below. |
Linking a task or subtask
The task picker lists your active tasks from every list you can access — in your Personal space and in all your workspaces — with their open subtasks underneath. Search covers subtasks too.
Not listed
Tasks and subtasks assigned only to other people, and tasks of team lists you are not part of, are left out.
Focus time shows up on the task card. A subtask shows its own time; its task adds up its own sessions and all of its subtasks'.
Ending a session
When a session ends, you can:

| Rate it | From half a star to 5 stars — your focus quality. |
| Complete the task | Answer “Did you complete…?”. For a subtask session, it ticks the subtask, not its task. |
Saved configs
Each configuration you start is saved under Saved configs on the Timer page. Click play to relaunch it, or the trash icon to remove it.
The Free plan includes 10 timer categories and 10 saved configs; Plus and Pro are unlimited.
